GARAGE REPLACEMENT HOME

NEW BUILD HOME IN PLACE OF 3 GARAGES

Planning permission successfully achieved for this unique home in place of three small garages.

The size of the plot was extremely limited, and flanked on three sides by neighbouring land. On top of this, Brighton Council wanted the property to conform to an optional M4(2) accessible and adaptable disability specification, for there to be an outdoor amenity area, and for the property to conform fully to the technical space standards in terms of minimum floor areas and minimum room sizes.

The high level of constraints ultimately led to creating an extremely unique “upside down” property, with a garden area provided on the first floor. This satisfied all of the planning requirements and was granted full planning permission.
